BankBlackUSA launches new website with help from Instrument
BankBlackUSA is a labor of love, and our work to level the playing field for Black Americans is pushed forward by a community of volunteers, partners, and organizations who believe in our mission as much as we do. Today, we’d like to highlight our partnership with Instrument.
Since 2016, we’ve made great strides in advancing our cause, but we needed to update the way that people interacted with our organization. We were looking for a partner to elevate our brand and website—all while creating an experience that empowers visitors with the knowledge and tools they needed to act on the #BankBlack movement.
It was at that time that we learned about Instrument—and specifically that, through their Build|Grow|Serve program, they had committed 4000 hours in 2021 of pro bono design, strategy, and development work to nonprofit organizations focused on the amplification of Black voices, fighting systemic racism, and the pursuit of a more just and inclusive future.
After submitting our application and meeting the team, BankBlackUSA and Instrument officially began our partnership. Over the following months, we worked hand in hand with the team to lay the foundation for the future of our organization—redesigning our website, modernizing our brand, and creating an extensible platform that enables impactful storytelling to support our mission. Today we’re proud to launch our new brand and digital experience, and hope that you’re inspired to take action and join the movement.
What our Founders are saying:
When you’re in the trenches, you rarely get the opportunity to stand back and take in all you’ve accomplished. Instrument gave us that chance. They did more than just polish up our brand and language. They served as a prism of sorts—a conduit for casting our work, its opportunities, and our potential as organization. They forced us to dialogue with all we’ve done, and unearth possibilities that were previously unforeseen. We’re now sharper and more focused as we traverse forward, and we have Instrument to thank for that. It’s with the utmost confidence that I’d refer Instrument to anyone looking to elevate and become more in tune with their own organization.

These last few months working with Instrument have been game changing. It has been a transformational experience for us at both an organizational level and a personal level. This has been the cherry on top of our last 5 years of work. Instrument has helped us lay the foundation for the next 5 years and beyond.
